Local organization celebrates with Fall Harvest Party

Fredericton, NB – October 1, 2014 — NB Community Harvest Gardens(NBCHG) is ringing in the fall harvest with their fourth annual Fall Harvest Party on Saturday, October 4 from 1PM to 4PM at the St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 780 McEvoy St.

During the event, gardeners, local food enthusiasts and the public will learn about the latest growing and preserving techniques through hands-on demonstrations, sample locally-sourced foods and find out about other gardening and sustainability initiatives in the province. Attendees will also go on a guided tour of NBCHG’s first community garden- the St. Mary’s Community Garden.

“Our mission has always been to create accessible, inclusive, sustainable gardening spaces throughout Fredericton.  By giving people the tools that they need to grow their own food, we’ve also helped create a multitude of success stories in many members’ personal growth as well.  Our gardeners come from all imaginable walks of life but growing food is the common thread that brings everyone together – the sense of community simply takes over” said Edee Klee, Co-Chair of the organization.

“Our Fall Harvest Party is about celebrating and sharing these success stories as well as this year’s bountiful harvest.”

Admission is free.
